Audition Information:

  • Auditions — In-Person (Open Audition): Sunday September 21st from 4pm - 8pm at the Elgin Artspace Lofts. 51 S Spring St, Elgin IL 60120. You will want to enter the door at the corner of Dupage St and Spring St.  Please read the information below:

  1. Please prepare a 1-minute cut of a song in the style of or from the show. An accompanist will NOT be provided. Bring your phone (or alternative device) to play your track from. Your device must be compatible with Lightning , USB-C, AUX, or Bluetooth for audio output.

  2. There will not be a dance audition.

  3. Some portions of the audition may be recorded.

  • Video submissions will be accepted. All video submissions are due by 10pm Saturday September 20th. Follow the steps below if you need to submit a video audition.

  2. Submit the video as either a direct YouTube or Google Drive link to thehomecreativeco@gmail.com. Make sure your video is public or thehomecreativeco@gmail.com has viewing access to it.

  • Walk-Ins will be accepted

Production Information:

  • Callbacks — In-Person (Invitation Only): Wednesday September 24th from 6:30pm - 10pm in Elgin. Location TBD. 

  • Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin shortly after callbacks, starting the week of September 29th. We anticipate holding 2 to 4 rehearsals per week, depending on cast availability. All rehearsals will take place in the Elgin area.

  • Tech Week: December 1st- 4th from 5:30pm - 10pm. 

  •  Performances: December 5, 6, 12, 13 @7pm and December 7 and 14 @3pm. Possible additions of matinees on December 6th and 13th. 

  • Production Content Warning: Rent contains mature language, including profanity and slurs. The show also addresses sensitive topics and adult themes such as death, illness (including HIV/AIDS), suicide, self-harm, houselessness, addiction, and sexual content.The production will have an intimacy coordinator and cast advocate to ensure cast members feel safe and comfortable with all content listed above. 

The Home Creative Co. is a non profit artistic theater organization based out of Elgin IL. Founded in 2020, we produce full scale musicals and plays. The Home exists not as a place or a person, but as a community.
